‘The homeowners were returning clients.,’ explains Alice of how she became involved in the project. ‘We had previously worked together on their country cottage project, and this brought an ease and shared understanding to the design process. This project was for their London pied à terre, which had been built by a developer.’

‘The brief was to create a contemporary, layered home that felt genuinely comfortable and practical for a busy working couple and their dog,’ she explains. ‘While the Battersea Power Station development has a distinctive, urban character, we wanted to honour that strong architectural identity while introducing warmth, texture and softness, creating a space that feels inviting, relaxed and effortlessly liveable.’

‘The priority was to create a light-filled, contemporary home that still felt warm, comfortable and lived-in – avoiding anything too stark or austere,’ says Alice. ‘The open-plan living space was definitely the most important room.’
