We all have those fixations that we simply can’t get enough of – some are only fleeting, while others we never get sick of. I recently caught up with Vogue Williams, during which she revealed her biggest interiors obsession of all – and that’s all things stripe! But aren’t we all?!
The new co-host of Renovation Rescue series 2 on Channel 4, taking over from Stacey Solomon, is not only a home and interiors enthusiast – she also has a degree in construction design and management to back it up. But even she’s not immune to a stripy piece of homeware – whether it’s a cushion, a vase or a sofa. And even though stripes keep getting called a home decor trend, they’re really the ultimate anti-trend, a timeless pattern that never goes out of style.
‘If there’s something stripy I can’t resist,’ Vogue says. ‘Stripes are just so fun. Definitely go for a stripe!’

Vogue is currently in the middle of decorating her new home in London with her husband Spencer Matthews. And she already has stripe-filled plans for her future residence where she’s going to opt for some bold stripe drenching. ‘Even doing up our new house, I’m like, one room can be a stripe room. And everything will be a stripe.’
At the moment, the presenter splits her time between a house in her native Howth in Dublin, Ireland which she’s also recently renovated and decorated and a temporary London home which she’s renting with her family while their forever home is being renovated. And both of these homes feature stripy accents throughout – the most standout one being a striped sofa from Vogue’s collection with Sterling Home.
‘When I was designing that sofa, I was thinking whether people will be put off by the stripes because a sofa is such a big purchase, you’re getting it for 10 years. But people absolutely love it. I get loads of questions about that one all the time,’ Vogue says.
She adds, ‘I actually have a striped loveseat in my house in London as well. I snuck another one in.’

Cocobella Medium Sofa in Cornish Blue Stripe
While you can, of course, get the same sofa that Vogue has, this John Lewis x Sophie Conran design has a similar look. I’ve tried it and super soft and comfortable. It also comes in several striped colourways.
Jonathan Adler
Vice Munchies Canister
Vogue actually has these decorative jars in her home in Howth in different colours. They’re definitely an investment, but a very pretty one.
Habitat
Stripe Ceramic Blue Vase with Wavy Handles
Habitat is the master when it comes to the striped vase trend. And Vogue has a similar striped vase to this one in her own home.

Pink Chenille Stripe Cushion
If a striped sofa is too big a commitment for you, you can bring some striped goodness to your living room seating with some striped cushions like this pink and burgundy beauty.

Pure Cotton Striped Multiway Curtains
In her bedroom in Howth, Vogue adorned her windows with horizontally striped beige curtains. M&S makes a vertical take on the look, crafted from 100% cotton.
B&B Italia
Serie Up 2000 Chair in Sora striped beige and orange
This funky chair from B&B Italia – the maker of the famous Camaleonda sofa – is actually a design classic, hence the price point. I’ve tried it before myself and love it. As does Vogue who used to have one in her cinema room in her previous home in Battersea.
With interior experts calling stripes ‘the new neutral’, I think a fully striped room sounds perfectly reasonable! And I for one can’t wait to see it once Vogue’s new home is finished and revealed.
