Ideal Home’s Kitchen of the Year: Symphony
The National Trust’s first fitted-kitchen designed created in collaboration with Symphony was inspired by one of the charity’s properties Coleton Fishacre, a 1920s Arts & Crafts-style house in Devon.
With its classically British country kitchen charm and highly customisable elements, it’ll bring a sense of history and timelessness into any home.
‘Heritage design and earthy colour palettes are big kitchen trends in 2026 and I’m amazed at how Symphony has combined these style points with sustainability,’ says Holly Cockburn, Ideal Home’s Content Editor and kitchens expert. ‘The soft nature of the 22 different shades will look good in any space.’
Ginevra Benedetti, Deputy Editor of Ideal Home magazine, adds ‘The Coleton is one of eight new kitchen designs made in Yorkshire from 74% recycled material. This Arts & Crafts-inspired design evokes a refreshing new/old spin on a classic Shaker style.’

Best Classic Kitchen Range: Howdens
Mix and match, or dual-toned, kitchen colour schemes are big for 2026 and can have a truly elevating effect on a space. The Ilfracombe Pebble and Truffle range from Howdens showcases the perfect execution of this trend, with this luxury-look design that creates the effect of a bespoke kitchen.
Holly Cockburn says, ‘The solid timber frame of the Ilfracombe kitchen from Howdens embodies the quality of handcrafted Shaker doors that is so desirable in 2026. With a traditional construction and contemporary colour options, you couldn’t find a better classic kitchen range.’

Best Modern Kitchen Range: Magnet
As you might be able to tell from its name, Magnet’s gorgeous Reed collection is all about fluted and textured detailing, adding an unmistakable depth to a kitchen scheme. And with 27 curated paint shades available to choose from, there are so many ways to make this extremely indulgent range your own.
‘Fluted surfaces are a contemporary trend I don’t see slowing down and Magnet’s Reed range shows just how effective it is when used across an entire kitchen design,’ says Holly. ‘It takes slab doors to another level.’

Best Use of Colour: Wickes
If your love affair with neutral kitchen schemes is over, then Wickes’ Whitworth kitchen in Terracotta is the perfect way to transition to something more welcoming and distinctly earthy. This Mediterranean-inspired shade delivers a twist on the unexpected red theory and absolutely wowed our judges.
Heather Young, Ideal Home’s Editor-in-Chief says ‘This beautiful, easy-to-live-with colour is perfect for a warm and inviting kitchen space. It’s so versatile, working well for a traditional or modern look.’
Holly adds, ‘Wickes’ Whitworth kitchen in Terracotta has a soft, warm tone that is instantly inviting. It’s playful without feeling too bold and shows why earthy colour schemes are a big trend in 2026.’

Best Kitchen Flooring: Amtico Spacia Collection
Amtico’s Spacia range offers all of the luxury we’ve come to know from the brand at a more accessible price point, with the collection featuring nearly 100 different designs. As well as offering stunning, distinctive designs Amtico has also crafted a range that is built to last in a home.

Best Freestanding Furniture: Neptune
‘Freestanding kitchens allow you to add to your existing kitchen layout or change it completely whenever you choose.’ says Ginevra, referencing this year’s winner from Neptune with the Borough Kitchen range. ‘The design and quality of this stunning collection is timeless and would easily enhance any space.’
With pieces spanning pan drawers, spacious larders and exceptionally on-trend chopping blocks as an antidote to the classic kitchen island, it’s easy to see why this chic collection was a standout favourite of our judges for providing ultimate flexibility.

Given this collection draws inspiration from some of the literary greats of the twentieth century, it’s no surprise that there’s a real opulence and glamour about the shades and finishes on offer. From dusty pinks to inky blues, there’s such character to this wonderfully expressive collection.

Best Kitchen Worktop: Kon̈igstone
This stunning, yet durable stone-effect worktop from Kon̈igstone is a winner in our judge’s eyes for many reasons; for starters, it offers a high-end marble look on a more accessible budget.
It also comes in a choice of 28 colours and finishes and is extremely stain and scratch resistant. What’s more, as it’s engineered without using silica, meaning the risks that traditionally occur when working with quartz worktops (e.g cutting or polishing quartz can release microscopic dust that causes a variety of severe lung conditions) no longer pose a threat to installers or homeowners alike.

With a premium aesthetic on the exterior and intelligent lighting inside, there was no doubt in the judges’ minds that this should be Ideal Home’s Genius Kitchen Innovation for 2026.
Heather says, ‘Refrigerators are an important decision to get right and Bora’s cooling systems come out on top with innovative features such as odour filtration and no-frost technology. The storage compartments will also make it easier to stay organised.’
Best Small Space Design Solution: Magnet
What better use could there be of a small, unused space in a kitchen than a dedicated coffee nook? I can’t think of any better alternative, especially when the result is as charming as Magnet’s.
Holly says, ‘This clever design is a genius way to create a ritual zone in a compact cooking area. It frees up your other worktops and improves kitchen flow.’
Best Kitchen Hardware
Picking the perfect hardware for your kitchen doesn’t need to be a headache thanks to this year’s standout winner from Hendel & Hendel which has an architectural feel like no other.
‘The perfect hardware instantly elevates a kitchen, and The Barrington half-moon silhouette does just that.’ says Heather. ‘The subtle ribbed profile nods to an art deco feel.’

This cutting-edge cookware set, the 6-piece Hybrid Pot version, from HexClad will raise the culinary stakes of any kitchen. It’s an incredibly durable selection – which is of course the main thing people are looking for in a saucepan – and it’s built to go the distance. It helps that it’s a set that’ll be a perfect match to any modern kitchen scheme too.
Cast Iron Cookware: ProCook
As Ideal Home’s Kitchen Appliances & Cookware Editor, I can tell you firsthand that ProCook’s Cast Iron range delivers the premium quality that you’d ordinarily expect from brands that are ten times the price. The colour range and availability of matching sets is excellent; after trying several pieces I can confirm they’re as at home in an oven as they are on the hob.
